Happy "Despicable" Halloween!

This Halloween Xiera and Zella both wanted to be Despicable Me characters. Xiera wanted to be a Girly Minion and Zella wanted to be Edith. Xiera's Despicable Me jumper dress was custom made by the talented Karen of Layla and Stitch Boutique. We paired it with a yellow long sleeved shirt, leggings, black gloves, a pair of black boots, minion goggles, and a crocheted Dave hat to top it off.

Zella wanted to be her favorite character of the movie whom she is most like, Edith. I found her burgundy skirt, purple leggings, and white snow boots on Ebay. Her adorable striped knitted sweater and hat was created by the talented daughter of Heather of Sugar Hiccups Boutique.

Our Halloween is a rainy one this year so Trick or Treat night has been rescheduled for Sunday night instead. Wishing everyone a very safe and fun Halloween this year!

Happy The Cheeseburger Hat

My oldest daughter, Xiera, has been wanting me to crochet a cheeseburger hat for her for quite sometime now. She had told me that she wanted it to be smiling and to look super cute with sesame seeds on the bun. At the moment, I am all caught up with orders, so I decided to create this fun little hat for her; especially since it IS hat day at school today. ;)

Meet Happy the Cheeseburger hat. I have to admit, he did turn out super Kawaii. Just look at those rosy pink cheeks.
I think I nailed it because I got her approval. What do you think?

Just look at that smile. She even has a tee shirt that matches!

CRAZY Hair Day!

Today is CRAZY Hair Day at school today. We had a bit of fun and used lots of color. My youngest daughter, Zella, wanted to have rainbow hair like a unicorn so I used some pastel chalk I found at Joanne Fabrics. I used some pinks, blues, greens, a little yellow, some orange and a bit of purple. I used the flat iron to set the color, and curled some sections so her hair would resemble a real unicorn mane. I sprayed all of her hair with silver glitter and then to top it off, I crocheted a very majestic unicorn horn and attached it to a headband for her to wear. Instant Cuteness!!

My oldest daughter, Xiera, wanted cupcake pigtail buns for her hairstyle. I put her hair up into pigtails and sprayed a can of hot pink hair color onto both pigtails. (I probably should have used 2-3 cans instead of just the one since her hair is so long and thick.) I then braided her pigtails and cut a hole on the bottom of two cupcake cases. I threaded the cupcake cases onto each braid and then wrapped her braids into buns. I used hair ties and hair pins to fasten. I finished the "cupcakes" off by topping them with little red pom pom cherries. I threaded red floss through them and tied them onto the bun centers. I then sprayed silver glitter onto both cupcake buns and she was ready to go.

They were so excited and silly while waiting for the bus this morning.

What a fun day for them!

Minion Mayhem This Halloween

Yesterday I finished my very last Halloween order and am so thrilled to begin working on Christmas items! But first I need to work on a few items my daughters have requested that I make for them. This Halloween is all about Minions this year. I cannot even count how many minion hats I have made. Even my own daughters are dressing up as Despicable Me characters this year. ;) The order I had just finished was for a family of 4 who are all dressing up as minions. They wanted each of their hats to look completely different so I came up with this.

I think the evil minion with two eyes turned out so funny and cute!

Another minion order I had made recently was a Dave the minion hat with matching backpack.

The backpack was a lot of fun to make. I have to admit that the drawstring part was a little tricky to put in at first, but I figured it out.

I found the patterns to create all of these fantastic minion creations on Ravelry. Heidi of Snappy Tots created both the minion hats and backpacks patterns. Her patterns are very easy to follow and fun to create! You can find the pattern for the minion hats HERE and the pattern for the minion backpack HERE. You can also keep updated on her recent pattern designs on her Facebook PAGE.

Little Red Riding Hood

Yesterday I finished a beautiful custom Red Riding Hood cape. The cape is for a dear customer of mine. Her daughter is dressing up as Red Riding Hood for Halloween and the cape completes her costume.

I purchased the pattern from jkdepriest on Etsy. You can find the pattern HERE. The pattern only goes up to a size 12 so I added a few extra stitches and rows and used a J hook instead of an I to make the cape fit a size 14.

The pattern is very easy to read and follow. I was actually able to finish this cape within two days. Of course I worked on it all day yesterday so that I could finish it in time to be mailed out and hopefully arrive this weekend; just in time for her daughter to enjoy wearing it at a Halloween party.

New Logo

I am so excited to share my brand new logo! It was created by Logo Lane on Etsy and I couldn't be more pleased with how it turned out!

I am planning on putting this logo on my new business cards and hang tags. I am also using it for my new watermark logo on my pictures.

Spooky the Kitty Cat Hat

Over the weekend I tested the most adorable pattern created by the very talented Heidi of Snappy Tots. This cute little pumpkin top hat is very versatile and can be made into a variety of characters and animals. I decided to test the pattern and make it into a cute Spooky the Kitty Cat Hat for my little kitty cat lover.

I think it turned out super cute. Heidi of Snappy Tots creates the most FABULOUS crochet designs. I used one of her patterns to create the minion hats I shared previously. You can find Heidi's patterns available HERE on Ravelry. You can fan her HERE on Facebook.
